Drag the base handle

You do not aim the tip. You drag the base plate; a two-bone arm carries the motion out to the tip. Learn how the linkage translates your drag into where the tip points. The target frame is hidden — the only guide is the warmer/colder strip, which reads the tip's orientation. Match it, then hold to lock. Left-drag the plate (grab is forgiving — you needn't hit the disc dead-on) · right-drag or hold Space + drag to orbit · wheel zooms.

Left-drag the pink base plate to drive the arm — the grab is forgiving, so you don't have to land on the disc exactly. Right-drag or hold Space + drag to orbit the camera. The tip is the referent of all feedback — always.

What this drill teaches

One sub-skill only: approach vector (orientation in the body's own frame). No depth, no pressure. Indirect control: you drive a base joint, IK carries it to the tip, so you learn the linkage's transfer function — and, because feedback tracks the tip against a hidden target, you learn the target geometry, not an input-space macro. Target is randomized per attempt, static within it (no drift — that arrives in a later drill). Max two uncertainty sources here: hidden target + indirect linkage.

The swap challenge (variable practice): each hidden target can be locked under two different linkages — the reach Arm and the hip-tilt Body. Their drag→tip mappings differ, so a memorized "drag-here" macro that beats one will fail the other. Landing the same hidden angle under both (a DUAL-LOCK) is the proof you learned the angle itself, not the handling.
